Meet Amanda Sanchez, Master's Level Intern

As a graduate counseling intern, supervised by Melissa Hunter, LMFT-S, I bring both professional training and meaningful lived experience to my work with clients. I understand firsthand the unique challenges, strengths, and complexities that can come with navigating relationships, identity, emotional regulation, and everyday life in a world that is not always designed for neurodivergent minds.

I also have an extensive background in helping families navigate co-parenting, child and family development, parenting a child with autism, and assisting caregivers with finding balance within their lives. I am passionate about creating a supportive, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood and empowered.  I am an accredited instructor for the National Family Development Credential Program, a course through the University of Connecticut entitled Empowerment Skills For Family Workers, which teaches family service workers to utilize a strengths based approach when working with families.

My background also includes working with veterans and their spouses, helping individuals

and families navigate stress, transition, communication challenges, trauma-related experiences, and relationship concerns. I value authenticity, compassion, and collaboration in the therapeutic process and strive to meet each client where they are.

I am especially interested in supporting neurodivergent individuals of all ages, parents and caregivers, couples, and military families as they work toward greater self-understanding, resilience, and connection.
