Meet Desiree Davis, MS, LPC
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas with a passion for helping individuals and couples reconnect with their inner strength, navigate life’s transitions, and move toward healing with self-compassion. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lock Haven University and became a National Certified Counselor (NCC) in 2021. My clinical journey began during my internship, providing therapy to undergraduate counseling students—a role that sparked my love for walking alongside others in their growth.
After graduation, I worked in private practice settings in Northcentral Pennsylvania, gaining clinical hours toward licensure while expanding my skills and knowledge. I pursued specialized training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), pregnancy and pregnancy loss, and ADHD treatment. I also found deep fulfillment in couples counseling and completed Levels 1 and 2 of Gottman Method Couples Therapy to strengthen my work with partners seeking connection and communication.
Since relocating to West Texas in 2023, I’ve continued supporting teens, adults, and couples via secure telehealth sessions. I’m also EMDR Basic Trained and incorporate trauma-informed care into my work with survivors of abuse, including my ongoing part-time role at a local domestic violence shelter.
I believe therapy is a collaborative space where you are the expert on your experience. My role is to reflect, support, and challenge you with empathy and honesty—not to provide quick answers, but to help you uncover your own. I integrate Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR principles, and Gottman-informed techniques, tailoring my approach to each unique client.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, doing yoga (sometimes imperfectly!), and embracing the ongoing adventure of parenting and life after a big move across the country.
